Lily Passed In The Night
August 22, 2011Lily passed in the night
She did not make it
To the morning light.
Her little body
Moves no more
No hummingbird
To feed, no more.
God’s creatures live to be
And we are blessed
To know and see
For even just a little while.
Go now on our way
And think of her
When hummers hum
And wonder how
She came to be
On the road where
We found she.
Thu sad it be all for now
We shared in magic
For just a little, little while.

So sad, but you know…she could have been old or ill or injured. You did what you could but it is possible that nothing could have saved her. At least you were able to experience her company for a few hours…what a rare thing. *hugs*

Thank you Carole. We knew going in that there wasn’t much luck but it was magical to be near her and see her little bright eyes and such an independence. You’re right, it was a rare thing and an honor to have been given. Thanks again,
