Sweet Water Greets
April 29, 2015Sweet water greets those flying from the south
A long time since said goodbye
Now spring beckons them to our house
Heavy, sweet ruffled feathers
Shook out to contain some heat
Refilled from drinking that that’s sweet.
Tiny and big spring flowers bloom
Holding up their coloured petals
To the sun and to the moon
Sweet nectar deep inside
Lavish feast for who knows where it resides
Hovering there in spring.
Welcome back my little summer friends
Who harrow spring and winter’s end
Let summer too be about to begin
Trust your journey was a easy ride
On currents blowing up
On south’s humid tide.
We’ll share the warm summer’s breeze
You’ll drink sweet water
Til leaves begin to fall
Then on currents you’ll fly away
Drinking sweet water on your way
Back to a warm, south southern day.
