Autumn’s Come
September 12, 2016Autumn’s come
Darkness reigns, life dying
As cold seeps in and leaves fall
Like a uncontrolled train.
Birds are flocking, salmon, trout
Fighting their way up rivers
Not seen since tiny river trout.
Young are grown
Grooming a thick winter coat
Bears sleepy fat, readying
For a long winter, that’s that.
Those staying loading caches
Their bountiful summer haul
Autumn’s come
We also call it fall.
