As I sit here thinking
Of what is to be
And been
My mind wanders to things
That have passed, have been.

There are no memories
As strong as those
That I’ve lived
Been part of
Those that have been.

Future dreams that I’ll be living
Won’t be nothing
Won’t be memories til
They’ve passed thru my living
Going into what has been.
