Holding On And Holding Fast

March 16, 2022
Holding Go And Holding Fast ~ Photo by Patrice

Holding on and holding fast
Not letting go.

Til the earth is beneath my feet
The sand whispering in my ear
And wind blowing too and fro.

Then
And only then
Will I let go.

Can’t Help But See

June 12, 2020

Patrice Clarkson's Blog

Black Swan ~ Photo by Patrice

Can’t help but see
The world living, unfolding
As it should be.

Can’t help but feel
The soft and gentle caring
Beneath my feet.

Can’t help but hear
A song of love
Filling each of my ears.

Can’t help but live
A life full of harmony
Can’t help but see all this, around me.

Hallowed Ground Rises

November 21, 2017

Cloudy Morning Sky ~ Photo by Patrice

Hallowed ground rises
Beneath my feet
Spreading joy for all those that seek
A life better than yesterday
As a heart beats just to stay
Here with us in today
Soft, tender feet tread
On gentle ground
Feeling love all around
Making no enemies friend nor foe
Only love
Laughter is what they sow.

Looking

August 30, 2017

Great Danes from Purina's Hall of Fame ~ Watercolour by Patrice

Looking up to the sky
Looking for the answer
The reason why
The solid earth beneath my feet
Radiates love
Leaving no room
For defeat.

My mouth says words
Needed to be said
My hands hold
Thankfulness for all I see
And for the ground
On which I tread
Here, alongside thee.

Frost Crunches Beneath My Feet

October 28, 2013

Fall Leaves ~ photo by PatriceFrost crunches beneath my feet
Sodden leaves weep and weep
Fall has come bare bones are cold
The sun shines but no warmth
In this season’s end
I behold.
