I Wonder What Was It Like

October 10, 2014

I wonder what was it like
When I was born
Did I cry right away
Or was I compelled?

Did I know what had happened
Was I frightened to be out
Of the only world I’d known
Did I even know where I was?

The answers I don’t know
No one left to tell
Gone are the memories
I may have once held.

The business of new life
Took over and I cried
Sad to be leaving
The soft, warm womb
Where my mother kept me
Safe and alive.

I may not remember
No one left to tell
But I know I was born and
With love I was held.

Tremendous So It Seems

June 24, 2014

Filtered Sun ~ photo by Patrice

Tremendous so it seems walking thru the maze
Pass what beams life back to me
From an unearthly realm on a heavenly stream.

Touch the golden glow
Bask in that fantasy stream
Mellow is the fellow born to feel all that
That doesn’t seem.

The Lips Are Covered

The lips are covered
The heart is cold
Fractured love
Is the consequence
To be told.

Nothing born
Nothing bold
Devastation
Is what’s present
Up to you to
Let the life chosen
To let it now unfold.

The Sun Shone Bright

September 10, 2012

The sun shone bright
Cancelling out the dark of night
All sadden thoughts washed away
Down the drain of yesterday.

New focus being
On those things right
Guide us through
With sunlight
To safe harbour
Tucked in for tonight.

Born on this day
All better to celebrate
A life brought in time
When the sun shone bright
Cancelling out the dark of night.
