Cold Is My Heart

September 5, 2019

Old House ~ Photo by Patrice

Cold is my heart
As I face the darkness
Brooding there
In the deep bottomless dark.

No remorse comes
To save me
No salvation
Takes my heart.

Just cold anger
Seething
Storming in my mind
Waiting to rip apart.

Anything
That dare face me
Stand and challenge
This coldness in my heart.

Combine All You Got

July 31, 2014

Chickens and Eggs ~ illustration by Patrice for the Educational Publisher, Ginn and Company

Combine all you got
Leave no room regretting not
Challenge the atmosphere
Just to hear the echo flowing back
Full of goodness none deny.

Then add it up
Trust it’s the sum of what you’ve got.

Not All I Am About

June 9, 2014

Brittainy ~ Watercolour by Patrice.

My running is not all I am about
But it is what keeps me physically healthy, grounded and at peace
Without it, I will have no focus, no inner peace.

My writing is not all I am about
But from it, I feel whole, in touch with who I am spiritually
I feel a calm, a calm fulfillment.

My art is not all I am about
It’s what I need, what I feel called to do
A yearning, a desire, a challenge, an ecstasy
It is who I am. Who I desire to be.

But not all I am about.

Challenge The Inevitable

December 26, 2012

Challenge the inevitable
Make it seem
Like you and it are one
And what was wanted
In the scheme of all things.

Why Do I Wonder?

August 3, 2012

Why do I wonder?
Why do I challenge?
Why can’t I munster
All needed here in my realm?

No joke is conducted
No sequence revealed
Just me and my wonder
On that level playing field.
