Fall has come, its presence felt
The lane is crowded with leaves that fell
Geese fly through coloured hills
Their honks ringing against clear, blue skys.
While squirrels cache seeds
Nuts and whatever they can fill
Holes hidden hopefully to remember
In the cold winter still.
Sorrow, anticipation crowd my mind
At the last of summer as it falls to winter
In midst of such beauty that sends
Chills to the soul and thrills the mind.

Snow falling down as we once again sing
That snow falling song.
It goes on and on
No end to the cold winter song
All about more snow falling
Coming down.
We’d sacrifice to have no more ice
Oh God, that would be nice!
Or freezing rain clogging
Icing over the runoff drain.
Think we’ve had enough
But that’s not up to us
So better grab a snow shovel
Clear the winter rubble
Singing the never ending
Snow falling song.
