Dismal failure
comes to mind
when I recite
a simple
nursery rhyme.
They speak of laughter
a joyous time
while in my heart
cries of disaster
no merry
nursery rhyme.
Dark place
that’s what I feel
what comes to mind
reciting
nursery rhymes.

Precious little
Crosses my mind as flowers bloom
Streams run wild
Mountains are so fine.
Precious little
Is on my mind
I can’t decide whether to run away
Relish or to hide.
Precious little
Is mine
Mine to decide.
