You Had Me At The Start

You had me at the start 
the start of the morning 
the beginning of night. 

You were with me 
as I traversed treacherous waters 
no saviour in sight. 

I began to understand 
how much I needed you 
when all alone 
in the middle of a terrible fight. 

Now, with you alongside 
I go thru the most dangerous times 
coming out into 
a magnificent, glorious light.

Then it happened going far from away
To the depths of happiness
Making my year, my day.

Holding on with joyous gladness
Heading thru the mired deep
Coming out in the other happiness
Feeling pleasure ever so sweet.
