Solely Told Her

July 28, 2022
Solely Told Her ~ self-illustration by Patrice

Solely
told her what
I think
no anger, sadness
did I convey

Nothing more
than encouragement
nothing more
could
would I say

Moving on
believing
I made a difference
in herself
this hour, this day

Nothing
more
nothing else
did I say.

The feeder hangs
Quiet and discreet
Waiting for company
To enjoy her treats.

No bad or evil thoughts
Does she convey
Feeding all who happen
To pass her way.

Filled up or near empty
She stands quietly there
Holding something
She lives to share.

When I Hear The Sound Of Your Voice

June 29, 2020

Old Trans Canada Hwy Scene ~ Photo by Patrice

When I hear
The sound of your voice
Life becomes so dear
Clouds part, rains stop
And wrens fly near.

No one speaks a word
No one need say
The feelings felt
To convey how
The world is ours
And
We have all the love
We need today.

Words

May 16, 2019

Classic Car ~ Illustration by Patrice for B.C. Central Credit Union

I go to write
Listening for the words to form
Pictured in my mind they come
They take their form
On the page they rest
Now said, now wrote.

I thank the presence
That brought them to my mind
Formed the thoughts to convey
And then
Without another word
Quietly slipped away.

I Saw You Together

February 15, 2019

Yehudi Menuhin ~ Illustration by Patrice

I saw you together connected by an energy
A wave of endless love.

No words needed to convey, to see your love
Bonded together, radiating an energy
Produced by shared love.

Mother, daughter connected forever
By a word, a feeling, a energy
We simply name love.

Much Has Been Said

February 10, 2015

Much has been said and no one is right
All must bond, sitting together tonight
Saying not a word til dawn’s morning light
Then only if heartfelt last night
More can be said by not saying a thing
A nod, a wave can convey everything.

Follow your soul, your heart and your mind
Say the words slow, let them trickle
Giving time to know what they are
Making sure they’re clearly defined
So one can say
Not much has been said but all is sublime.
