Long ago, far away
A heart was broke
He did not stay
To weep or cry
Nor brush sad tears away.
Crushed
A fool she thought
Then sat
Laughed
Brushed her own tears
Away.
No fool was she
No clown performing
For vacant love
He, he was the one
A fool for leaving
Not loving her.
He turned
He walked away
Never knowing what
He could have had
He walked away.

Can I fix it?
Will I be the one
That’s the hero
In a situation
That should not be?
Crushed and miserable
Full of doubt
Must move forward
Cast it out.
Smile with gratitude
Mean it
See it radiate
All about.
My strength and smile
Will cast misery out.
Can I fix it?
I have no doubt.

When everything is obscure
Upside down
In the loo
How can I think
Pleasant thoughts
Laugh or cry with hilarity?
Nope
Not happening
Crushed, lonely
I trudge ahead
Feeling chains
Of impending dread
A smile cannot cross
My doomed face
All joy is gone
It’s been erased.
Why I live
Why I die
An answer comes
Slowly
As I cry.
