My heart aches
my soul cries
for a time
of clear innocence
a time that time
has taken
to the past
No more to feel
to bask
in rays of light
hearted laughs
Sadness overwhelms
hurt
seems to last
til no more tears left
to sob
crying for the now
distance past.

A sadness deep inside
festering, crying
pleading
to be let out
let outside.
To be free
to wander, find solace
be happy
come alive
This is all
that
sadness asks
all’s needed
for that sadness deep
deep inside.

You’ve been with me
I believe
no amount of time will pass
without you near.
Remorse in the beginning
crying that will cease
becoming memories of laughter and play
things talked about shown, learned
and explained.
No farther away
than a thought in my head
for I see your voice speaking
your eyes filled with kindness
no dread.
I know I can go forward
I know I’ll be ok
for you’ll be with me
forever
forever and a day.

On the other side, sliding down
The slippery slope
Laughing, crying I turn round
I hope the way is clear
The path won’t steer me wrong
On the other side, sliding down.

Will shorts ever be an option?
Cold winds blow frozen
Ice it seems encloses
No bright, growing spring
No warm summer sun.
Harsh, angry weather
Keeping winter coats on
In what was suppose to be spring.
No respite
Birds shivering
Tulips freezing
Babies crying
No,
Shorts are not an option tonight.

To all those I have lost in this life
Patrice Clarkson's Blog

Did you see me coming down the lane?
Did you hear me crying, crying your name?
I have lost you in the mist of time
Forgotten what has been
And what was part of mine.
Then I hear you softly call my name
Feel your arms around me once again
Trust the world will still be pleased
Even thou you no longer step
Along this path with me.

I break my heart, injure my soul
Sacrifice my love
Feeling remorse forever more.
Nothing
Will bind the pieces together
Must take it out of mind.
Feel
The injuries, the heartache, the crying
Then leave them all far behind.

It’s cold, it blows
It doesn’t seem to want
To go away.
It strikes my heart
Piercing all that’s warm
Freezing it today.
No pleading, crying
Can make it melt
Becoming rain on a sunny day.
No, it’s cold
It blows all thoughts
Of lovely spring away.

Sadness comes
And dwells with me
Again today
Bringing all her baggage
Hanging in taters
Just like yesterday.
No laughing, only crying
Sullen, morose behaviour
As I sit here in my misery
Just like yesterday.
