Sadness Is A Part Of Me

June 20, 2019

Sadness is a part of me
Loss of one so very dear
To me
Gone a long time ago
But no one told me
I didn’t know.

Her heart was pure
Her soul glowed bright
I can see her smile
Her gentle nature
Such a delight.

In the years
That have passed
We talked little
Distance, time
Seemed to be an
Impasse.

But you were there
I was here
Sharing a love so full
For horses, boxers
And a mate who
Completed, giving all.

Now must accept
Gone to be in heaven
Where with all who
Have gone before
Happily sharing laughter
Memories by the score.

I Thought

I thought of that
And now don’t know why.

I thought of this
And now I feel a need to cry.

I thought of things
And still didn’t feel a thing.

I thought so
And now I know I didn’t know
Anything.

Let Me Write Something Smart And Clever

November 5, 2018

Winter Orchid ~ Photo by Patrice

Let me write
Something smart and clever
Telling the world
Secrets they didn’t know.

Pour my thoughts out
Convey all the things
I understand
And now know.

Hope they show
Compassion, loving kindness
And a knowledge given me
That til then I didn’t know.

One More Time I’ll Write

October 7, 2014

Last used Oct. 7/14

One more time
I’ll write what I feel
Deep down in the midst
Of something that I didn’t know
Did exist and sure don’t know
What it is.
