Things Change

April 9, 2020

Three Bearded Ladies ~ Illustration by Patrice

Things change, wheels turn
Looking back is not my concern
See the path ahead
Focus on feeling
No trepidation
Remorse nor dread.

Heart holding
Embracing the best
Smile comes
Easing the way
As the sun shines on
Another brilliant day.

Looking Back, I See Ahead

February 4, 2019

Aggy and the Wall

Looking Back, I see ahead
The twists and turns
I must not fear nor dread
The world will come
And be before my feet
It’s up to me to go forward
To find, to seek.

Last Day Of A Time

December 28, 2018

Last day of a time gone thru
When everything’s done
Came back lived by me, by you.

Looking forward to days ahead
Not back at neither sorrow or dread
Only joy, “Remember it” she said.

Bring it forward to this New Year
Live it to the fullest
With much good cheer!

The One

March 27, 2018

Safe and Strong ~ Illustration by Patrice for Ginn and Company's math book, 'Starting Points in Mathematics'

I march ahead
Leaving no trace, no dread.

Heading to an unknown grace
To a place I can be the one.

The only one who loves this person
The one I will become.

Travelling Down A No Return Road

October 6, 2017

First of Winter Road ~ photo by Patrice

Travelling down a no return road
Going forward pass signs
On this winding, bending road
That tell me what’s ahead
Sometimes full of anticipation
Sometimes only dread.

Going forward
Not looking back
Not using a rearview mirror
To see behind
There’s no use in using that.

On the side of this my road
I’m passing beauty there
Just up to me to behold.

My salvation
May be at the end
Of this my own long road
But the journey to that place
Is up to me to unfold.

Tortured Souls Hear The Pain

January 15, 2016

Patrice Clarkson's Blog

Tortured souls hear the pain
Nothing in it, all in vain
Climbing out, out from pain
Crucial not to be flushed
Down the drain.

Melody running in my head
Ponder what I really dread
Muster forth the power said
Rock all that fuels
This in my head.

A Dark Day

A dark day, a quiet day
Busy hoping the bad will go away
But still anger fills the land
Don’t understand, don’t understand.

Silent caution undertakes
To make the world a safer place
No blaming you, no blaming me
Just live in wonder, in harmony.

Darkest night is all we fear
Not one another, no foe, no peer
We walk in morning not with dread
Only thoughts of love instead.

Let The World Go

May 7, 2015

Let the world go
Nothing more to be said
No regret, no should have or dread
Nothing more to be said
Let it go, let it go instead.
