It Fell From The Sky

April 6, 2018

Icicle Spaceship ~ Photo by Patrice

It fell from the sky
Crashed to the earth
A spaceship from somewhere
Maybe the past
Resting now
In a soft bank of snow.

Who knows who they are?
Where they’ve been
And where they’re yet to go
Now impaled
Stuck in the snow.

Will they go in reverse
Back to the sky
Disappearing from earth
In the dark of the night?
Going forth to the future
In a blaze of hot light?

Then again
They could melt into the snow
Part of the crowd, no one to know
Not born or raised here on earth
But from a place we don’t know.

There are those who’ll say
“It’s an icicle deep in the snow
Fell from the eavestrough
Succumbed to gravity’s pull”.

As for me, I just don’t know.

Listen To The Misty River Rain

September 24, 2011

Listen to the misty river rain
Drip, drip
Running thru the eavestrough
Down the spout to the drain
Misty, misty raindrops
Listen to the misty river rain.

Full of life
Full of promise
Misty, misty raindrops
Listen to the misty river rain.

Splatter on the sidewalk
Run down the lane
To where the cat walks
Misty, misty raindrops.
Listen to the misty river rain.

Soaking up the essence
Flowing on to the deep, dark river plain
Raindrops, misty, misty raindrops
Listen to the misty river rain.

Giving goodness to the world
These raindrops, misty, misty raindrops
Listen to the misty river rain
The misty river raindrops
The misty river rain.
