Let Me Lift Up My Soul

Let me lift up my soul
My heart, my eyes
To the bright cerulean sky
Let no heart beat
Without a steady beat
No eye cry for a unbeknown
Love that’s died.

Let my feet walk, run
In rhythm with the flowing sun
Shade my head
With kindness, courtesy
Feel no dread
As my arms embrace
The living grace that surrounds
All living.

Seeking not
A world of anguish
But living
Living without knowing
Sadness, pity
There I’ll live
With the upmost dignity.

And see a girl
As pleasant
As pleasant be.

Never knowing
She would grow up
To be me.
