The snow comes
It does blow
Winter’s breath is cold
Cold
Cold
In the spring
Blizzards are forgotten
With the dawning of warmth
And
The beauty
Growing flowers bring
Melting into summer
Hot, humid
Splashing in warm water
Watching waves wash
To and fro
Fall doesn’t matter
For it seems dying
Is
The main thing
But
Really nothing dies
Only preparing
For a long hibernation
That winter winds
Will
Soon bring.

Leaves falling
Leaving all the ground
Covered
With
A quiet sound.
Breezes
Stirring leaves
Here and there
Falling from branches
Now left bare.
Thru the winter
All quietens down
Passing storms bring
The only sound
Of
Branches cracking
Blowing down.
In the spring
Life will come
Bright and warm
On
Into summer’s sun.
Til
Full circle in the fall
Once again
We’ll see
Leaves fall.

Fall has come, its presence felt
The lane is crowded with leaves that fell
Geese fly through coloured hills
Their honks ringing against clear, blue skys.
While squirrels cache seeds
Nuts and whatever they can fill
Holes hidden hopefully to remember
In the cold winter still.
Sorrow, anticipation crowd my mind
At the last of summer as it falls to winter
In midst of such beauty that sends
Chills to the soul and thrills the mind.

Rain, pouring rain, cold, colder still
Chills falling, falling down again
Winter’s come, pass the fall
Summer’s gone, we’ve missed it all.
One thing we can do
Is pray for spring, feel the dew
Then summer’s warmth will arrive
Holding us, in her arms once again.

Feel the fall
The crash
The bang.
See it all shatter
Splatter
Across the plain.
Yell
Scream
Your anguish
To cold
Callous ears.
This madness you discovered is here beneath your tears. ~ Patrice

Frost crunches beneath my feet
Sodden leaves weep and weep
Fall has come bare bones are cold
The sun shines but no warmth
In this season’s end
I behold.

The blue of a heavenly blue
Morning glory
Reigns over all that I recall
Of summer bright
Full
Full of absolute delight.
Dying now settling down
Falling into fall
A beauty of it’s own
Reds, browns golden hues
Contrasting with a heavenly blue
Morning glory
Hanging on into fall.
When summer is long gone
And I can only recall
Those summer heavenly blues
Most of all.
