A day to reflect
a day to stay focused
on tomorrow
making it better than yesterday.

The hurts, wrongs and harms
done in the name
of a God
that would not condone
such tragedies in anyway.

Fill your heart with love
fill your soul with remorse
for the small
innocent children lying dead
in shallow, unmarked graves
undiscovered
til just yesterday.

They had done no wrong
snatched
from their mothers and fathers
one terrible
fateful day.

Send support
for survivors that made it thru
endured torture, harm unmitigated pain
for no reason
not ever, not never
in those horrible years
terrible days.

Fulfil The Heart

March 16, 2021

Last used March 16/21

Fulfil the heart
the soul
follow your dreams
to the end
of
the storied road.

Pause
let this journey sink in
soak your soul
in
the many varied stories
you’ll experience
be told.

Fill
your heart with love
let it be carried
forever
in your soul.

Getting Old

August 19, 2014

Mom and Twiggy ~ Photo by Patrice

Getting old
Is not for the mild or meek
Tough road lies ahead bolstered
From those already dead.

Aches and pains constant
Even if only in your head
Hip replaced, arteries clogged
Fingers arthritic and sometimes
The mind is just a smog.

That’s when you think of yesterday
Fill your heart with thoughts
That only knew life in a form of play.

Getting old
Will or won’t take those times away.
