Fingers Trudge

September 29, 2021
Fingers Trudge ~ Illustration by Patrice

Fingers trudge
across the page
feeling
the paper’s texture
smooth
hardly any grain.

Will the pen
fill the lines
printed
on this page
or
will it be vacant
unused
crumpled
thrown away?

Fingers hesitate
and then
pick up trusty pen
and say
words that fill this page
with all they want
need
to say.

Fill The Store

Fill The Store ~ Photo by Patrice

Fill the store
Empty the heart of things vicious
Tearing you apart

Please go
Please depart

Let the sun shine in
The love to flow
The world know you are gentle
All good things fill
Your store and loving heart.

Hear The Silence

July 18, 2019

Crossing at Nanticoke Creek ~ Photo by Patrice

Hear the silence
Feel the quiet expanse
Fill it with all of you
All of yourself.

Peaceful existence
Beauty in living a loving life
You can do it
But not all alone
Not all by yourself.

Delicately Said

April 10, 2018

Yellow Lily ~ Photo by Patrice

Delicately said
The words come out
Saying things
Leaving no doubt.

There is a God
He lives right here
His breath is felt
He’s very near.

Words said
Heal a broken heart
Like falling rain
Never to be lost again.
