You’ve Been With Me

March 29, 2021
You've Been With Me ~ Watercolour by Patrice

You’ve been with me
I believe
no amount of time will pass
without you near.

Remorse in the beginning
crying that will cease
becoming memories of laughter and play
things talked about shown, learned
and explained.

No farther away
than a thought in my head
for I see your voice speaking
your eyes filled with kindness
no dread.

I know I can go forward
I know I’ll be ok
for you’ll be with me
forever
forever and a day.

I Feel The Wheels Turning

March 2, 2020

Pebbles and Rocks ~ Photo by Patrice

I feel the wheels turning
I know
I’m moving ahead
left behind is the quandary
shall I stay safe
or
go forward instead.

The path is convoluted
many twists and turns ahead
but I know
I feel
It’s the only road I must travel
before I sleep
lay down
rest my weary head.

I Don’t Hear Your Story Now

May 28, 2019

Blooms in a Storm ~ Photo by Patrice

I don’t hear your story now
All is oblivious somehow
Rain has poured the storyline away
Gone for tomorrow
Not to exist yesterday.

A thought comes to mind

If I think of it now
And it exists in the present
Must have been lived yesterday
And will go forward to tomorrow
Being lived all the way.

Looking Back, I See Ahead

February 4, 2019

Aggy and the Wall

Looking Back, I see ahead
The twists and turns
I must not fear nor dread
The world will come
And be before my feet
It’s up to me to go forward
To find, to seek.

There I Stand

December 18, 2017

Cow Butts ~ Watercolour by Patrice

There I stand
Soul, hat in hand
Searching, looking for the right way
The right stand.

Should I turn left
Or maybe right
Go forward or
Retreat into the dark of night?

No answer comes
No word spoken clear
Quiet, gentle silence moves me
Our bond unbroken here.
