I seek but will I find
The lost, hidden
The divine.
No path is shown
No way is clear
Trudging onward
Holding on to thoughts
Of what may be
Near.
Maybe passed by
Shrugged off
Not
Realizing
Sometimes
Good things
Stand
Being there for me
To embrace
Hiding
In
Plain sight.

Forbidden virtues
Hidden, lost
Make my life
Chaos
No reprimand
No solicitous time
Just lost
Lost.
Maybe tomorrow
The sun will shine
Maybe then I’ll see
The light
The reason so sublime
All will be ok
Right
In my not tortured mind.

The coldness covers and blossoms
Amongst dead and dying leaves
No heart is safe from these icy fingers
Embracing you, embracing me.
Covering, spreading across the land
Bringing cold some won’t withstand
Then it’s gone
Gone from the hidden, sleeping land.
Replaced by warmth growing
Flowering in the meadow, blooming in a tree
Another season guides life to expand
Spreading across this land
Thats’s in front of me.

Flowing down the page
Words written by a distant sage
Knowledge knowing
Understanding things lost
Hidden in the midst of all
Which we will understand
We will know
When the written words
Are read
For our eyes will overflow.

Fall has come, its presence felt
The lane is crowded with leaves that fell
Geese fly through coloured hills
Their honks ringing against clear, blue skys.
While squirrels cache seeds
Nuts and whatever they can fill
Holes hidden hopefully to remember
In the cold winter still.
Sorrow, anticipation crowd my mind
At the last of summer as it falls to winter
In midst of such beauty that sends
Chills to the soul and thrills the mind.

So cool today a chickadee came
To where the feeder should be
She looked and looked
Then took a flight around
Just to check no seeds were hidden
Near or on the ground.
It’s only August, too soon for seeds
Flowers bloom in all their majesty
But honestly, look closely
I see them shivering
Shaking in the breeze.
