Things Happen

Things happen
I don’t know why
Placing me in places
Sometimes sad
Sometimes I even cry.

Then the heavens open up
Raining down
Blessings warm and bountiful
Covering everything
Everything all around.

I Cry, So I Cry

February 19, 2021

Patrice Clarkson's Blog

Connie Yellow Lab ~ Watercolour by Patrice

I feel the heaven and the lie
I know the answer I sigh
Nothing is respectful
Nor is it what I need to know
I cry
So I cry.

I see the heaven
I see the ocean’s die
I am part of the earth
Scotched, bleeding dry
That’s why, that’s when
I cry
So I cry

Found The Reason

June 11, 2019

Poppies Red ~ Photo by Patrice

I haven’t found the reason
Why I cry
I cry
Nothing seems to stop it
Hold it back
My world is lovely
Yet I always come back
To that.

Maybe in the past
Somewhere
In a life I lived
A life that didn’t last
I’ll find the reason
The reason will be answered
At last
Oh Lord at last.

Heartfelt Heartache

January 15, 2019

Old House Window ~ Photo by Patrice

Heartfelt heartache
Bleeding me dry
Remorse
Smouldering
As I cry.

No cruel words
Need to be said
For flags of submission
Can be seen
Flying overhead.

I’m on a downward
Roll-a-coaster slide
Out of control
Bleeding
As I die.

When Everything Is Obscure

November 14, 2016

Soulful Tree at Eugina Falls ~ Photo by Patrice

When everything is obscure
Upside down
In the loo
How can I think
Pleasant thoughts
Laugh or cry with hilarity?

Nope
Not happening

Crushed, lonely
I trudge ahead
Feeling chains
Of impending dread
A smile cannot cross
My doomed face
All joy is gone
It’s been erased.

Why I live
Why I die
An answer comes
Slowly
As I cry.

Sultry Humid, Tired And Dry

July 18, 2016

St. Lucian Beauty ~ Photo by Patrice

Sultry humid, tired and dry
Looking for languid
Solemn I cry
No redemption neither remorse
I stand corrected
Powered with force.

Softly gentle, kindly kind
I trudge onward
In a mindless mind.

No heaven to help me
No devil to care
Follow the angry, uphold the rare
Sight of forgiveness, gasp for air
Holding on
I hope I’m spared.

My Heart Is Aching

June 28, 2016

Wild Roses ~ Photo by Patrice

My heart is aching
I know not why
Sleeping softly
I cry
And cry.

Remorse only
Not knowing why
My heart aches
Breaking
As I cry.
