I saw a chipmunk sleeping lazily
Enjoying the day
Quietly.

I saw a dog splashing
Playing in the water
All alone.

I saw a deer eat seeds
From my deck
Secretly.

I saw a tree fall
Smashing all.

I saw ants marching across sand
With a leaf in their mouth
They ran.

I saw a dog cry
Mourning the loss of one
Who’d died.

I saw a tree upside down
How could this be?

I saw a bumblebee sip nectar
Quietly.

I saw a fawn cry
Plaintively.

I saw a stingray fly
Majestically.

I saw a crocodile up close
So scary.

I saw life abound
But none, not a soul, no one
Saw me around.

In the heart of my distress
I find an ark of happiness
Ferrys me to a life
In heaven’s image
No heartache, nor strife
In my dreams I seek, I see
This hallowed place I saw
I seek.

I saw all I needed in my life
Suddenly.

I Saw

You didn’t see the things
I saw
Nor did you feel the feelings
That I felt.

Still in my mind
I know
You know what I saw
What I felt.

And you alone will bring me
To the place
A place
I’ve always sought.
