Let me settle down
My anger now is very, very profound.
You took a life, meant nothing to you
Just something in your way
With a swipe, you took a life away
Didn’t miss a stride nor did your heart skip a beat
You went on like nothing bad marked your soul
Or was there blood on your saintly hands
You smiled, laughed, no trace upon your angelic face
Of the death someone has to face
A death you caused, you alone.
It may have been just a little creature
Living life in the space you called your own
You crushed the breath from that creature’s chest
You ground your shoe in the sand
Leaving no trace of a life
That may have been so grand.
Life is precious
Intertwined with all we see
Combined to grow, prosper alongside one another
Whether we walk, run, leap or crawl
You’re not alone nor can…

Golden leaves swaying
On a November breeze
Floating, cascading down
Landing on soon to be
Frozen, winter ground.
Woods are silent, hushed, listening
To the still quiet as a hunter lurks
Waiting to kill in the midst
Of golden leaves falling, raining down
Upon barren, dying ground.

You’re not alone nor can you make it alone
Don’t kill those whose heart sings a different beat
Instead remember
We need one another in this life we been shown.

Monster caught
Without a shot
Only a few hundred
Just before
But then he’d killed
Some more.
Now folks can sleep
And get some rest
A monster kills
No more.
His brother dead
Shot in the head
But not before
Bombs blew again
Once more.
Hid himself
The monster did
Bleeding not running
Anymore.
Police had him
In a trap
Then he slipped away
Once more.
Hid in a boat
David’s boat
Couldn’t sneak away
No more.
Bleeding he’s found
Shots exchanged
Bullets ripped
Throughout the scene
Then a silent theme
Once more.
Police quietly hid
And waited til monster
Could no more.
Kill and maim children
Who hadn’t done a thing
To him
A monster is a monster
No more.
People cheered
And clapped their hands
Celebrating far into night
For the fight is
No more.
Cheering police
Thanking them
For risking life and limb
Bringing in a monster
Who won’t kill again
No more.
Monsters reign no more.
