Once close to me
now apart
that’s where we stand
with
a different point of view
How
did it come to this
when
did we drift apart
did
you feel me leaving
your head, your heart?
No void,
no thought
at one time
could keep us
apart
But now
I stand on opposite shore
wondering
whatever happened
happened
that drove us
drove us so very, very far apart.

When things become
Hectic
And out of place
Step back, deep breath in
Move slowly
At a snail’s pace.
The welcoming of plenty
The loss of all things
filled with empty
Can sometimes overwhelm you
Leaving only a place crazily
Hectic.

Wandering now
Where I’ve never been
Seeking now
Things I’ve won’t begin
Leaving now
Thoughts I shouldn’t have held so tight
Gone now
From the darkest night
Flowing now
On a path not so straight
Holding now
Promise as I go to the light.

I saw you leaving, going away
Your back was turned
You didn’t say
A word of gratitude
Goodbye or even ‘Hey’
You just left
I saw you leave, go away.
My heart was broken
My life in disarray
I had nothing left that day
I saw you you leave
You were gone
You went away.
