A eagle sits up in a tree
resting
after fishing salmon
in
our tiny stream.
Majestic and noble
he doesn’t seem to see
the trials, tribulations
I’m burdened with
as I too wander by
that
tiny, fish laden stream.
He brings it all into perspective
he makes me see
life goes on
regardless
of what I want
I need
I perceive.

Waves of thunder cross the sky
Rain falls obliterating any peaceful scene
My heart wails in anguish
Horrified by what
I’ve seen.
May tomorrow ride the wave
Of sunlight streaming
Streaming across a quiet
Peaceful scene.
And I will rest in peace
Knowing life goes on
No matter what I feel
I’ve seen.

Wind blowing
Hollering
Thru the trees
Breaking
Smashing
Everything it sees.
Cruel
Sparing none
Blowing all night
Til
The morning sun.
Devastation
Greets the day
All hard work
All blown away.
Nothing left
But clean up
Arrange
And hold back
Despair.
Know
The sun will shine
Once again
Life will go on
Even if the wind
She does blow
Strong.

So many commitments lost
So many not fulfilled
Looking at myself
In disgust
For not being where I should.
So many changes
Were not mine.
Life goes on but in the meantime
Let me be the person
I should and want to be
Not losing anything that is dear
And right now lost to me.
