You Are My Sunshine

December 16, 2020

You Are My Sunshine ~ Pen and Ink Art by Patrice

You are my sunshine
My reason for living
With every breath I take
My mind breathes you in
My thoughts go to the times
We had together
When I nestled in your embrace
The world was right
And we were not apart
But there
There together.

Another Idea Came To Mind

April 10, 2019

Rottie Pups ~ Painting by Patrice

Another idea came to mind
Popped into my head
My mind
Write it down, ponder it
Express it
Make it become
A reality.

Cause if I let it be
It’ll wander and fade
To a fleeting thought
That once lived
Briefly
In my mind
In my psyche.

Fall Has Come

Fall Rain ~ Photo by Patrice

Fall has come, its presence felt
The lane is crowded with leaves that fell
Geese fly through coloured hills
Their honks ringing against clear, blue skys.

While squirrels cache seeds
Nuts and whatever they can fill
Holes hidden hopefully to remember
In the cold winter still.

Sorrow, anticipation crowd my mind
At the last of summer as it falls to winter
In midst of such beauty that sends
Chills to the soul and thrills the mind.

Gentle And Kind

October 17, 2017

Diva & Lise Painting ~ Watercolour by Patrice

Gentle and kind
My soul holds my mind
Caressing softly.

Gentle and kind
I hear the words I need
So divine.

Gentle and kind
My soul is
My nurturing wine.

I Am Not Here

Study of hands and paint brushes ~ Illustration by Patrice for New Chalice Brushes

I am not here, I am over there
I am everywhere in my mind.

My soul holds it all together
Here, there and everywhere.
