Let Me Lift Up My Soul

August 7, 2018

Old Car ~ Photo by Patrice

Let me lift up my soul
My heart, my eyes
To the bright cerulean sky
Let no heart beat
Without a steady beat
No eye cry for a unbeknown
Love that’s died.

Let my feet walk, run
In rhythm with the flowing sun
Shade my head
With kindness, courtesy
Feel no dread
As my arms embrace
The living grace that surrounds
All living.

Seeking not
A world of anguish
But living
Living without knowing
Sadness, pity
There I’ll live
With the upmost dignity.

Soldiers March

August 15, 2017

Fox Hounds on Parade - Photo by Patrice

Soldiers march
Feet hitting the ground
Sending thunder, fear
That does resound
In a heart filled in ache
Pity and pain
All those things not needed
But
Unfortunately
Part of the refrain.

Sadness Fails

May 26, 2017

Old House Window ~ photo by Patrice

Sadness fails
Crashes
Hear
The wails.

Monster crawls
Full of regret
Finally getting
What he should
Get.

No remorse
Pity none
Turn the page
Forget
The rage.

Sadness can
No more
Be part of
Hate.
