Gently Lay The Burden Down

October 25, 2022
Gently Lay The Burden Down ~ Photo by Patrice

Gently
Lay the burden down
Caress it softly
Hear the ground moan quietly
From the weight you laid down

Feel no anger, no remorse
Your work is done
You’ve travelled the entire course
Now, you are the one
To show the way.

Not deviating
No
Not today.

Hear The Heart Beat

May 3, 2022
Hear The Heart Beat ~ Illustration by Patrice

Hear the heart
beat quietly
the sound
goes thru each day
to eternity

My heart,
the heart continuously
breathing
life in the body
sight to the soul
beauty
for all to see

Forever beating
beating
beating quietly.

Quietly

May 6, 2021
Quietly ~ Photo by Patrice

Quietly I lay
waiting for the sky
to take away
all the hurt, pain
I experienced
yesterday

Quietly, quietly I lay.

When I Was Lost

August 7, 2020

When I was lost, nowhere to go
She was there
This I know.

Holding still
Sitting quietly next to me
Not on a chair
But a presence
I could feel, I could not see.

Quietly she spoke
Her hand reaching out
Caressing my spirit, my soul
This being called
Me.

She told of things
That would be
She told me I would succeed
She told me, she told me
Everything.

Her voice so calm
Her touch so light
Her presence it could light
The darkest night.

An angel perhaps
A passing soul, who knows
But by my side
She lived, she stayed
She goes.

Another Month Starts

June 26, 2020

Another month starts today
Another path lies
Focused in some way
On the dream manifesting itself
In all waking, living things.

Gently, quietly step upon the step
That brings all you want, all you need
To the self that sings
Nature’s beauty
Daring, just to dream.

Kaboom, Kaboom

December 31, 2019

Mountain Goats - Photo by Patrice

Quietly, softly the breath intakes
Listening to the heart explodiate
Kaboom, kaboom.

The legs take their feet for a walk
While the arms hold close
Hands caressing the softness
Of love seen by the eyes
As the ears listen
To the quiet heart go
Kaboom, kaboom.

Sacrifice

August 7, 2019

Cloudy Morning Sky ~ Photo by Patrice

Sacrifice is what we do
Sometimes it’s good
Sometimes we should just
Press ‘undo’.

Your heart knows
What’s best to do
What’s best for you.

Listen quietly
Listen loud
It’ll always bring you
Thru.

Husk Falls

Seeds, Tree and Squirrel ~ Photo by Patrice

Husk falls, dropping to the ground
Seeds of wonder spattered all around.

Dead or dying not necessarily their fate
Taking food, taking strength
From the earth, the ground on which
They were spat, they grow and create.

Slowly, quietly up to mighty trees
Strong and wondrous they unfold
Dropping seeds that too
Like magic wonder, grow.

A Tear Drop

February 9, 2018

Icicle Plants ~ Photo by Patrice

A tear drop
Runs down my cheek
Taking with it all I cherish
All I seek.

A tear wells up
Clouding my eyes
So they can’t see
The pain devouring me.

A tear drops quietly
On lips unable to cry
Any words that fit
These feelings I dispise.

A tear falls
Down my cheek
Landing on my broken heart
Whose pain won’t go away.

A tear flows down
Taking with it all love
All joy
I hoped I’d found.

I feel
A tear running down.

Breathe In The Sacredness Of Life

July 17, 2017

Deer Reaching ~ Photo by Patrice

Quietly we breathe in the sacredness of life

For we know no other sees
The world the same
As our eyes see
Nor hear sounds of living life
Like I, me.

Sometimes we laugh
Sometimes we cry
But in the end
Life is lived
This, none other can deny.
