I’ve Heard Your Song

April 20, 2022
I've Heard Your Song ~ Photo by Patrice

I’ve heard your song
in the early morning light
and
in the quiet
evening twilight.

No song
is so beautiful
no refrain
so caring, so light

I know
I’ll always be with you
when I hear
your lovely song
in the morning, noon
or
the evening’s night.

Hold It Still

Hold It Still ~ Photo by Patrice

Hold it still and very close
Feel the love refrain floating everywhere
Know the heart holds the claim
To tell wonders not yet explained.

Another Day Not The Same

Zee Painting ~ Watercolour by Patrice

Another day not the same
A cloud, a veil
Lifted
Now I see my terrain.

All is clear
My purpose, my direction
My refrain.

I sing and live
What gives me satisfaction
Gives me
A life to live.

My Simple, Sad Refrain

September 11, 2012

My simple, sad refrain
Stills the aching heart
Inflamed with injustice
Done to those that steal
Souls of sadness
Make them real
In songs of gladness
Marked in time of destiny
Out of rhyme.

No thought is given
No time demands
We come to heaven
When out of time.

Here I Am Again

June 4, 2012

Here I am again
In the bowels of refrain
Feeling totally full of disdain
For the powers that feel
They are in charge.

And will not let the world
Run or follow the sun
Into happiness singing
A purely joyous refrain.

Make it happen
Make the power be you
And sing not disdain
Full of joyous happiness
In this your refrain.
