You’ve Been With Me

March 29, 2021
You've Been With Me ~ Watercolour by Patrice

You’ve been with me
I believe
no amount of time will pass
without you near.

Remorse in the beginning
crying that will cease
becoming memories of laughter and play
things talked about shown, learned
and explained.

No farther away
than a thought in my head
for I see your voice speaking
your eyes filled with kindness
no dread.

I know I can go forward
I know I’ll be ok
for you’ll be with me
forever
forever and a day.

Things Change

April 9, 2020

Three Bearded Ladies ~ Illustration by Patrice

Things change, wheels turn
Looking back is not my concern
See the path ahead
Focus on feeling
No trepidation
Remorse nor dread.

Heart holding
Embracing the best
Smile comes
Easing the way
As the sun shines on
Another brilliant day.

Heartfelt Heartache

January 15, 2019

Old House Window ~ Photo by Patrice

Heartfelt heartache
Bleeding me dry
Remorse
Smouldering
As I cry.

No cruel words
Need to be said
For flags of submission
Can be seen
Flying overhead.

I’m on a downward
Roll-a-coaster slide
Out of control
Bleeding
As I die.

Sadness Fails

May 26, 2017

Sadness fails
Crashes
Hear
The wails.

Monster crawls
Full of regret
Finally getting
What he should
Get.

No remorse
Pity none
Turn the page
Forget
The rage.

Sadness can
No more
Be part of
Hate.

Disaster Has Struck

May 8, 2017

Broken Robin's Nest ~ Photo by Patrice

Disaster has struck
Things have happened
That
Just shouldn’t be.

There is all sorts of remorse
And wanting to deny
What
Has come to be.

Maybe tomorrow will be better
But right now
That
I just can’t see.

Sultry Humid, Tired And Dry

July 18, 2016

St. Lucian Beauty ~ Photo by Patrice

Sultry humid, tired and dry
Looking for languid
Solemn I cry
No redemption neither remorse
I stand corrected
Powered with force.

Softly gentle, kindly kind
I trudge onward
In a mindless mind.

No heaven to help me
No devil to care
Follow the angry, uphold the rare
Sight of forgiveness, gasp for air
Holding on
I hope I’m spared.

Gentle Kindness

March 18, 2014

Morning Glory Fall ~ photo by Patrice

Gentle kindness
Softly touching you
Caressing, soothing wounds
So deep
And pushing wrongs
The other way.

No regret nor remorse
None have come to play
Just loving thoughts
Holding you
In a place of kindness
Each and everyday.

Snow Blows A Crisp Cold White

March 12, 2014

Snow blows a crisp cold white
Deafening on this spring morning night
Flying by with a unrepentive no melting cry
Once again covering all going deep down inside.

Some will die in this cold white mess
As snow hungers to hold a grip
Til no life stirs beneath its icy depth
Breeding death, anger and remorse
Snow blows, snow blows
Making life full of needless stress.

Our Neighbour Died

November 22, 2013

Wayne's Home ~ photo by Patrice

Our neighbour died
He passed away
Gone to heaven
Just today.

Sadness, remorse
Deep regret
Don’t know what happened
Just yet.

Lights on, police car
Soft voices heard
All seems extremely quiet
Even calm.

Most likely
They can’t believe
He’s gone.

Passed away
In the night they say
Just heard he’s gone
Gone yesterday.

Great guy
No more to say
Our neighbour died
He passed away.
