Sleepy, Tired

April 12, 2021

Sleepy, tired
wake up from tired sleep
open eyes, rub the sleep right out
yawn quite a bit
move about
breath in, breath out.

Wake for the day starting, begin
sleep tonight after dark steps in
where once again
sleepy, tired is what is felt
begins.

I Paint A Face

Face Study ~ Illustration by Patrice

Every morning I paint a face
The one I want to show
Moving thru the day
With beauty and with grace
I apply colours sometimes
In vibrant broad, happy strokes
Other times I can’t help
The lines are blue
They weep, they cry
Hues blended in a colour
That represents the reason why.

A smile I paint upon that face
Covering the worried lines
The anger
I hope not to find
Each morning I paint colours
To show love, beauty and grace
There on my face
With a special brush that covers all
The tired, frightened lines
I paint
Every morning I paint a face.

Searching, Reaching

April 3, 2014

Reaching ~ Photo by Patrice

Searching, reaching
For something of the best.

Finding, finding
Maybe then I can rest.

Tired, tired of searching
Reaching for the best.

Even so I will continue
Cause if I stop, I’m sure
They’ll lay me to rest.
