Treasures

November 3, 2022
Treasures ~ Photo by Patrice

Treasures happen
treasures can be within sight
or
sought, seeking far, far
into the reaches
of
the still, quiet night

No man speaks
but
all know his thoughts
that treasures keep him loved
from morning, to noon
then far, far into
the still, quiet night.

The Crow Flies

February 21, 2018

Flying Crows ~ image courtesy of Stock Photos

The crow flies over skies
Looking down on a world
Moving forward, no lies.

The crow flies calling
Singing songs only loved ones
Hear, don’t deny.

The crow flies holding close
Treasures found, lost
Seen by no other eyes.

The crow flies.

Never Understood

Never understood
How you could walk away
Never turning round
To even say
A kind goodbye

Never understood.

Can’t figure out why
Why it made me cry
Wish with all my heart
I too
Could leave and maybe die

Never understood.

Not now in that awful moment
Moved on and found
The world a lovely place
Full of treasures, beauty, grace
Making all that heartache
Pass away

That, I understand.

But in brief moments
Of some days
I think of you
And still

Can never really understand.

There Was A Time When We Were Old

December 16, 2016

Old Farm ~ photo by Patrice

There was a time when we were old
We’d laugh and cry as life did unfold
No remorse for things gone by
Only clamour for a sweet
Haunting lullaby.

Ancient wrinkles on a child’s face
Laughing, crying filled with grace
No honour lost, no rushing pace
No deadline met, only loving grace
Masking love on a loving face.

In a time gone by we may have met
Laughed and cried, no heartache wept
What a wondrous thing
When we were young and therefore old
In a time when we spun together
Treasures made of gold.

Let The Autumn Show My Love

October 10, 2012

Let the autumn show my love
Let it fall upon heartfelt ears
Seen today amongst the treasures
Gathered all these years.

I will love you best you see
For you are all the world
Just to me.

Let the autumn
Share my love
Here upon the land
I love.

For loving you
I can see
Is a major part
Of my loving destiny.

Let it be
In this autumn land
I will care
And love you grand.

We will together
Travel thru winter’s cold
Into spring and on to
Summer’s promised land.

Where our love will dwell
In a loving
Loving autumn land.
