Apart

Once close to me 
now apart  
that’s where we stand
with
a different point of view

How
did it come to this
when
did we drift apart
did
you feel me leaving
your head, your heart?

No void,
no thought
at one time
could keep us
apart

But now
I stand on opposite shore
wondering
whatever happened 
happened
that drove us 
drove us so very, very far apart.
