Enough

June 9, 2022
Enough ~ Painting by Patrice

More
is
never enough

All
is the trouble with
not enough

Figuring
it out, making sure
I know
what I need, what I have
and
that it’s always
just enough.

I Feel

June 2, 2022
I Feel ~ Watercolour by Patrice

I feel your presence
I feel your love holding on
To the beauty that was ours

When you were the only one
I really loved.

Times have changed
Times are not what they were

Still, I feel your embrace
Your breath kissing me
Surpassing
All that time, that space

Till the day
We’ll be together once again
Once again.

Figure It Out

March 30, 2022
Last used March 30/22

Figuring
trying to figure it out
can’t understand
the way, the procedure
to get it done
figured out.

Will work on it
I’ll think about
what may be the way
to do this, get it done
to
figure it out.

A Sadness Deep Inside

March 21, 2022
A Sadness Deep Inside ~ Watercolour by Patrice

A sadness deep inside
festering, crying
pleading
to be let out
let outside.

To be free
to wander, find solace
be happy
come alive

This is all
that
sadness asks
all’s needed
for that sadness deep
deep inside.

I’m Not Sure

March 18, 2022

Patrice Clarkson's Blog

I’m not sure what I’ll write
Something about yesterday
Maybe something
That will occur tonight.

No rules in place
No sayings to follow
Just hear that soft voice speak
And my writing, my words
They follow.

Ever Wonder Why?

February 18, 2022

Patrice Clarkson's Blog

ackal ~ Illustration by Patrice for Holt, Rinehart and Winston's reader, 'Flights Near And Far'

Ever wonder why?
Ever think things happen
On a line
You can’t deny?

Ever wonder why
Answers come
But don’t seem to be
The ones asked
Or seen technically?

Ever wonder, wonder why?

The world spins
it turns round

Bringing beauty
to those that
surround

Their hearts with kindness
all things

do abound.

I Hear Your Cry

January 10, 2022
I Hear Your Cry ~ Watercolour Art by Patrice

I hear your cry
I hear that mournful sound
echoing
amongst the hills
valleys
all around.

Will I too cry, will I be sad
inconsolable
in my quest for love
amongst
all this sadness
and
sorrow?

No answer comes
no words uttered
all
I hear is
that awful
awful
mournful sound.
