Holding out, holding close 
Thoughts of yesteryear

Knowing they arrived
Played out
And
Now have disappeared.

Reasons why, reasons known
I can’t decipher
I can’t cry out

All I know
they happened
They’re with me now 

Till I leave this earth, till I too 
Am no longer here.
