I seek but will I find 
The lost, hidden 
The divine. 

No path is shown 
No way is clear 
Trudging onward 
Holding on to thoughts 
Of what may be
Near. 

Maybe passed by
Shrugged off
Not
Realizing 

Sometimes
Good things 
Stand 
Being there for me
To embrace 

Hiding
In
Plain sight.

I Watch The Squirrels Fight

I watch the squirrels fight 
edging out one another 
for a place at the feeder 
for
just another bite. 

Sometimes
there’s a truce 

Sometimes
a bitter fight 

Sometimes
a lone squirrel 
eats
til he feels suffice. 

Birds keep their distance 
stay out of the fight 
they wait their turn 
a time when
all others have had their fill 

All’s quiet 

No more anger 

No more strife.

Sometimes
I feel life holding me 
embracing, protecting me 

Then
I’m invincible 
then I can do anything

When things become
Hectic 
And out of place 
Step back, deep breath in 
Move slowly
At a snail’s pace. 

The welcoming of plenty 
The loss of all things 
filled with empty 
Can sometimes overwhelm you 
Leaving only a place crazily
