When I Look Out To Sea

May 5, 2022
When I Look Out To Sea ~ Photo by Patrice

When I look out to sea
I see you looking
looking back over
just at me

The waves roll in
and
back out again
bringing with them
a message from overseas
a message
you sent just for me

In my thoughts I touch your lips
say words of love
then send them
on the wind
over water, overseas
to you with love
just from me.

The Heart Is Cold

January 12, 2022
The Heart Is Cold ~ Photo by Patrice

The heart is cold
And
Does not beat
With love

Just full of hate
Anger, blatant lies
No
Not love

See it fester
Boil over
Beating, beating
Not with love.

Close By And Near To Me

October 21, 2021
Close By And Near To Me ~ Watercolour Illustration by Patrice

Close by and near to me
The warmth of your body
Comforts, protects me
Gives me time
To see
The answer to all the questions
Filling me.

Then my world
Too
Will be filled with love

Unconditionally.

My Birthday Is Near, Yours Was Today

October 6, 2021
My Birthday Is Near, Yours Was Today ~ Photo by Patrice

My Birthday is near, yours was today

Without your birth
My heart wouldn’t beat
My eyes see
Or
My feet walk beneath
Blue skies and aside green seas

It’s so long ago
You ceased to be amongst us
But still
I feel your presence here
Inside/beside of me.

May we love, be forever
Mother – Daughter
Far
Far into eternity.
~ Patrice

Happy Birthday Mom!

Love

September 15, 2021
Love ~ Painting by Patrice

Feeling the movement
feeling
the love

Moved to emotion
blanketed
in love

Vowed to protect
forever
with love .

Maybe tomorrow
I’ll see more to be done
thinking, believing
in love.

Innocent Children Lying Dead

A day to reflect
a day to stay focused
on tomorrow
making it better than yesterday.

The hurts, wrongs and harms
done in the name
of a God
that would not condone
such tragedies in anyway.

Fill your heart with love
fill your soul with remorse
for the small
innocent children lying dead
in shallow, unmarked graves
undiscovered
til just yesterday.

They had done no wrong
snatched
from their mothers and fathers
one terrible
fateful day.

Send support
for survivors that made it thru
endured torture, harm unmitigated pain
for no reason
not ever, not never
in those horrible years
terrible days.

I Have Seen You

March 17, 2021

Last used March 17/21

I have seen you
your love, honesty
and
virtue.

Knowing
that in-between
are the other things
that
no one wants to see
feel or do.

All
are what makes up
an individual
a life, a soul
and
you.

I have seen you
and
I hope you’ve
seen me
too.

Fulfil The Heart

March 16, 2021

Last used March 16/21

Fulfil the heart
the soul
follow your dreams
to the end
of
the storied road.

Pause
let this journey sink in
soak your soul
in
the many varied stories
you’ll experience
be told.

Fill
your heart with love
let it be carried
forever
in your soul.

Courting Life, Fleeing Death

February 24, 2021

Courting Life, Fleeing Death ~ Illustration by Patrice

Courting life, fleeing death
Time passes
Taking no regard for
The rest.

Holding close, pushing aside
All things
I love, despise.

In tomorrow
The world may change
Leaving everything
Just the same.

On the season
